Devin Roche scores his first of four touchdowns on the day

Monarch’s Hold Off Resilient Kent St

Article By: PirateFlag_23

From ODU’s perspective, the offense completely carried the load against the Golden Flashes in week one. On the first play of the season, head-turning running back Devin Roche took the ball seventy-five yards up the left side for a touchdown to open up the Monarch’s campaign. He would cause headaches for Kent St all day with over 300 total yards, four touchdowns, and over ten yards per touch. The defense however, allowed the game to remain tight for four quarters. Tommy Ulatowski connected with his receivers on multiple deep shots to finish with 239 yards and two touchdowns on just eleven completions. The Monarch’s would extend their lead back to two-scores late in the fourth and never looked back.
