Georgia makes it out of South Bend Alive

Article By: dcane7

The Bulldog hits the road again as they headed down to South Bend to face off against a coach he knows and who knows him well in Coach Reign. The Bulldogs played a bend but don't break defense and although it helped them win this game, it's not going to be what Georgia wants to do as the competition gets even fiercer in SEC play. The defense would put up the first points for UGA with LB Raylen Wilson taking the ball back 59 yards for a pick 6. Notre Dame and their running duo wouldn't be silenced though as they would push their way down the field and then QB Riley Leonard would find Jordan Faison for a 3 yard pass to tie up the game. ND's defense came out and was forcing Georgia into some tough situations but QB Carson Beck would find WR Anthony Evans heading to the corner and he dashes away for an 81 yard TD to push the lead to 14-10. The Irish would find themselves down in positions a couple of more times but only able to walk away with field goals in the 3rd and 4th. Georgia was able to put up 14 more in the 4th and seal the much needed road win. "I have to say that I am proud of our results, but I will say that this game showed that there is a lot of work that needs to be done before the next block opens. We played way to timidly and gave up more than we should have. We need to get both sides of the ball moving with more consistency and effectiveness. Look for improvements in the next coming weeks." said Coach Cane after the game. GGs as always Mike, you are the reason behind a lot of my success, our talks and when I'm overthinking or not thinking and you give me that kick in the butt always helps.

Irish Battle the Dawgs, but Lose the War

Article By: ReignOnU

Notre Dame is no stranger to opening the season with top notch programs and this year was no different, as the Irish welcomed the perennial CFP contender Georgia Bulldogs to South Bend. Notre Dame started strong, working the ball down the field against a tough Georgia defense, but QB Riley Leonard tested the coverage skills of LB Raylen Wilson and instead of going up 7-0, the Irish found themselves in a 0-7 hole, as Wilson ripped down the field for a pick 6.

This outcome was a staple of the entire day, as Notre Dame's defense held the Georgia offense to just 200 yards of total production on the day, while the Notre Dame offense tallied 169 on the ground and 183 through the air. Unfortunately, it was the stout Georgia defense holding the Irish to 3 field goals and just 1 touchdown, while being in the beneficiaries of 3 interceptions and a fumble recovery, with 2 of the interceptions being returned for TDs.

Coach Reign: Offensively and defensively, we played a solid game all around. But you can't beat elite competition by turning the ball over and giving away defensive scores when you're in your opponent's territory. That's backbreaking stuff and today, we learned a hard lesson. Coach Cane and the crew didn't try to play hero ball, they kept the game within reach and took their wins where they could. That's a big opening week win for the Bulldogs as they head into SEC play. Meanwhile, we're looking at some programs on our schedule that are off to hot starts, such as FSU, Georgia Tech, Stanford and USC... so we're already on a razor thin margin this season. We'll try to right the ship and fight our way back into contention!
