Colorado Offense Continues to Roll

Article By: Andy

The high powered Buffaloes offense notched their second win of the season in a 44-14 win over Duke.

A quick 14-0 lead when Sanders hooked up with Wester followed soon after by a touchdown reception from Hood.

The Buffaloes would relinquish the lead a bit as Sanders threw his first interception of the season and Duke eventually tied it at 14.

But 21 seconds is too much time for the Colorado offense as they drove down the field to take a 17-14 lead before the half, and that is where things slanted heavily for Colorado.

Coming out of the half Sanders quickly led another scoring drive capped off by a touchdown run by Hood on 4th and goal from the 2.

A quick interception led to another Hood touchdown this time on a pass out of the backfield, missing the extra point Colorado led 30-14. Yet another Duke turnover on the next drive set the Buffaloes up inside the 40.

Hood ultimately scored again on a run putting a nail in the coffin to give Colorado a 37-14 lead. But Hood wasn't done, running out the Clock in the 4th he broke off an 80-yard touchdown to bring the lead to 44-14.

Sanders was nearly perfect, going 18-20 for 270 yards and 3 touchdowns and one interception. Hood may have stolen the show however. Rushing for 153 yards on 17 carries with 7 catches for 33 yards and 5 total touchdowns.

The defense held the Blue Devils in check forcing 6 turnovers, the second straight week the defense forced 6 turnovers.

Colorado heads into block 2 with a rivalry game against Colorado State and its first conference game against Baylor.

Second-Half Surge Propels Buffaloes

Article By: NarcanMan

In a game that began with a back-and-forth pace, the team in black and gold took full control in the second half, cruising to a dominant 44–14 victory.

After jumping out to an early lead with 14 points in the first quarter, the black-and-gold squad saw their opponents respond with 14 points of their own in the second. But after halftime, it was all one-way traffic. A 20-point third quarter, followed by another touchdown in the fourth, buried the blue-clad team, who failed to score again after the break.

Offensively, the victors were in rhythm all game long, amassing 412 total yards—270 through the air and 142 on the ground—while controlling key moments with 20 first downs and a perfect red zone record, converting all five trips into touchdowns.

The Blue Devils, despite a solid showing in the second quarter, struggled with ball security, turning the ball over six times—four interceptions and two fumbles—effectively eliminating any chance of a comeback. Those miscues led to quick momentum swings that the opposition capitalized on repeatedly.

Statistically, the gap widened beyond the scoreboard. The Buffaloes not only outgained their opponents by over 100 yards but also registered 494 total yards when factoring in kick returns. Special teams gave them a further edge, with an 82-yard return performance and solid field positioning.

While both sides kept penalties to a minimum, discipline couldn’t make up for the turnover margin. The team in blue, despite holding the ball longer and converting on five third downs, simply couldn’t overcome their mistakes.

In the end, a composed second half and a smothering defensive performance allowed the team in black and gold to pull away and secure a statement win.
