NDL: S32W12 - South Carolina (35) at Missouri (45)

Rivalry win 2/3 1 more to go

Article By: Mjkemp15

In a fast-paced, offense-heavy showdown, the Missouri Tigers, led by MJkemp15, outlasted the South Carolina Gamecocks and TheRealDray with a 45–35 victory. Both teams came ready to light up the scoreboard, but Missouri’s firepower and precision ultimately proved too much.

First Half Shootout
The Tigers came out swinging, scoring 21 points in the first quarter and adding 14 more in the second, establishing a 35–14 halftime lead. MJkemp15 was in rhythm early, slicing through the Gamecocks’ defense with a balanced attack. But South Carolina, to their credit, kept responding—never letting the game get out of reach.

Offensive Explosion
Missouri racked up a jaw-dropping 634 total yards, with 275 rushing and 345 passing, displaying near-perfect balance. South Carolina wasn’t far behind with 451 total yards of their own, powered by 238 on the ground and 213 through the air.

Despite the offensive onslaught, both teams were remarkably efficient on third down, converting 100% of their opportunities (Mizzou: 5/6, SC: 6/9). Red zone execution was strong on both sides—Missouri finished 4-for-4 with touchdowns and a field goal, while South Carolina capitalized with 2 red zone touchdowns.

Defense & Turnovers
In a game where defense often took a backseat, a few key plays made the difference. Missouri forced 2 turnovers (1 interception, 1 fumble), while South Carolina managed to pick off MJkemp15 once. Those extra possessions helped Mizzou maintain a slight edge in a game that was otherwise evenly matched.

Special Teams & Discipline
Missouri’s special teams chipped in with 6 punt return yards and 2 on kick returns, while the Gamecocks didn’t record any return yardage. Penalties were minimal—just one flag for 5 yards on South Carolina, and none on Missouri, showing impressive discipline from both squads.

Time of Possession
The clock barely leaned Missouri’s way, with a slim 14:09 to 13:51 advantage, further highlighting how efficient both offenses were in limited time.

Final Score:
Missouri Tigers 45 – South Carolina Gamecocks 35

In a shootout for the books, Missouri’s consistent offensive rhythm and slight edge in turnovers helped them secure a tough win. Both quarterbacks delivered strong performances, but MJkemp15 and the Tigers executed just a bit cleaner when it mattered most.
