Denton Papers Sports section is headlined this Sunday morning with a full page, "FIRE THAT FUCK" in LARGE, BOLD FONT. With only one block to go, an already simmed game, and a surefire ass whooping on the horizon from Razorback and ECU, Drewwbacca, maybe, probably, definitely should just hightail it out of town now. The administration wishes to, but his iron clad contract sees him earn full buyout money on the stupid ass 5 year deal the school mistakenly signed him to. At this point the UNT administration can only hope the public shame is sufficient to see Drewwbacca head elsewhere of his own accord.
I won't bore you with many stats from the game, all you need to know is, in typical Drewwbacca fashion, and ironically in this case through no real fault of my own, UNT drove for 4.5 minutes down the field to open the game and then proceed to fumble the ball inside the 5 yard line, well on their way to an opening possession TD. That set the town for the rest of the game, and that's about that. Ragsdale went back to rushing for under 100 yards, although he did smack some fools with a truck, harder than Lex Steele hitting Bonnie Rotten doggystyle. He also tacked on 69 (NICE!) receiving yards. Chandler Morris is an obvious product of Daddy's money and though he was once an elite recruit he's not certified trash.
Somehow, Drewwbacca continues to have some standout statlines on defense, but that's a misnomer because we simply accumulate stats by giving the other team the ball so much. Isheem Young in one of his final games with UNT and Drewwbacca did return on for 6, and DT Sheffield continues to make highlights in the return game.
When asked for post game comment, all Drewwbacca could muster was, "Fuck Season 32."
Victory bells welcome new head coach MortTheCow as the Roadrunners return to San Antonio's with a 21-14 victory over the in-state rival Mean Green.
Things started slowly for the Runners, as UNT marched down the field with ease, but everything turned when senior safety launched a nuclear blast on to the Mean Green's DT Sheffield inside the 5 yard line. A quick recovery by Ronald Triplette, and the Runners were in business. Two plays later, HB Robert Henry took a swing pass 88 yards for the first TD of the game.
The offense showed the ability to move the ball, but relying on small gains meant one dropped pass or TFL and the offense would stall. Meanwhile, the defense came to play, holding the Mean Green to 270 total yards and forcing 4 turnovers (3INT, 1 FF). The Roadrunners have a lot to work on, but a win is a win.
