In a thrilling college football showdown, Georgia Tech edged out Virginia Tech with a final score of 38-34. The game was a back-and-forth battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

The first quarter saw both teams trading touchdowns. Georgia Tech struck early with Jamal Haynes rushing for a 59-yard touchdown, followed by another one-yard run by Haynes to give the Yellow Jackets a 14-0 lead. Virginia Tech responded with a pair of passing touchdowns from Kyron Drones — a 28-yard to Benji Gosnell and a 12-yard to Jaylin Lane — tying the game at 14.

In the second quarter, Virginia Tech took the lead with a 51-yard pass from Drones to Ali Jennings, but Georgia Tech quickly regained momentum. Haynes King scored on a 4-yard run, and the Yellow Jackets went into halftime tied with the Hokies.

The third quarter belonged to Georgia Tech, with Jamal Haynes powering in a 5-yard run to extend their lead to 28-21. As the game moved into the final period, Georgia Tech added a 38-yard field goal from Aidan Birr, making it 31-21.

Virginia Tech mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter and took the lead. Jaylin Lane caught a 37-yard pass from Drones, followed by a blocked extra point attempt after Bhayshul Tuten’s 1-yard run, which kept the score close at 34-31. The Yellow Jackets then scored a touchdown with 1:27 to go on a 3-yard run by Jamal Haynes. Despite their efforts, Virginia Tech couldn’t complete the comeback, as Georgia Tech held on to win 38-34.

Georgia Tech dominated in rushing with 277 yards led by Jamal Haynes’ impressive 212 yards and four touchdowns. The Yellow Jackets’ defense also played a significant role, tallying multiple tackles for loss and interceptions. Virginia Tech outpassed Georgia Tech 267-145 and maintained strong offensive production, but turnovers and key stops by Georgia Tech ultimately decided the game.

This exciting contest showcased resilience and big plays from both sides, but Georgia Tech’s ability to hold on in the final moments secured their victory in this close and competitive game.
