Army Rolls Over UAB Behind 400-Yard Rush

Article By: ICE

The Army Black Knights bounced back in dominant fashion during their Week 7 clash against UAB, riding a relentless ground game and a stingy defense to a 31–14 road victory.

Army attempted just two passes in the game, completing one for four yards, but it didn’t matter. Their triple-option attack was firing on all cylinders, amassing an astonishing 404 rushing yards on 46 carries—an average of 8.8 yards per attempt. Four different players reached the end zone on the ground, showcasing the Black Knights' depth and versatility in the backfield.

Tyrell Robinson was the engine of the offense, tearing through the UAB defense for 148 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries, including a highlight-reel 70-yard breakaway. Miles Stewart added 96 yards and a score of his own, averaging a staggering 19.2 yards per carry. Quarterback Bryson Daily pitched in with 84 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Kanye Udoh added 69 yards and one score to round out the ground attack.

Through the air, Army was nearly invisible, attempting just two passes all game. Casey Reynolds had the lone reception for four yards. Still, their dominant ground performance made the passing game an afterthought.

On defense, Army was equally impressive. The unit totaled 44 tackles, including 7 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. Trey Sofia was a standout, notching 1.5 sacks and 3 tackles for loss. Kalib Fortner and Casey Larkin each contributed half a sack, and Chance Keith added one of his own. Max DiDomenico provided a key interception, while Kyle Lewis and Larkin each broke up a pass. Fortner also forced a fumble, helping to keep UAB’s offense in check.

Special teams added to the efficiency. Kicker Trey Gronotte remained perfect on the season, converting a 31-yard field goal and all four extra point attempts.

With the victory, Army improves its standing in the league and proves that when their rushing attack is at full throttle, they’re a tough team to stop. UAB had no answers for Army’s physicality and discipline on both sides of the ball.

Army looks to carry this momentum into Week 8 as they continue their push for a playoff berth.
