Postgame Recap – Coach Allen on West Virginia’s Big Win Over Oklahoma State

Tonight was one of those games you won’t forget. With our starting QB unavailable, all eyes turned to backup quarterback Nicco Marchiol, and let me tell you — he answered the call and then some.
Marchiol lit it up, going 26-of-30 for 503 yards, 4 touchdowns, and a ridiculous 86% completion rate. Calm, composed, and in full command of the offense — he proved he’s not just a backup, he’s a baller.
And then there was Traylon Ray, who put on a clinic. 10 receptions, 268 yards, and a touchdown, including a game-breaking 71-yard bomb. He was uncoverable all night. Add in big plays from P. Fox (123 yds) and C. Donaldson Jr. (1 catch, 45 yds, and a TD), and we kept the pressure on from start to finish.
Defensively, we had our hands full with Oklahoma State’s tempo, but when it came down to crunch time, we got the stops we needed.
This game showed our depth, our preparation, and the belief these players have in each other. No excuses — just execution.
