(Greenville, NC) - The 49ers continue their strong first half to the season by increasing their win streak to four games. Four straight games from the 49ers have brought their season total to a 4-1 (2-0) start. The offense was powered from a strong passing game from QB #1 Max Brown who was 14/17 on the day with 144 yards thrown. Brown threw for 1 TD and 0 INTs. The rest of the offense came from RB #0 Terron Kellman who rushed for just shy of 100 yards on the day with two touchdowns on 19 carries.
On defense, CB Al-Ma hi Ali recorded two interceptions and DB Derrick Edwards forced a fumble on a hitstick tackle during an ECU punt return to keep the ECU Pirates off the scoreboard until late into the 4th quarter.
Being able to blank the opposition to zero points through the first three quarters is quite the testament to our defense. Defense wins games. If we want to make a bowl game and maybe fight for a conference championship bid, we must win the turnover battle and keep points off the board.
