Athens, GA — Sanford Stadium | Saturday Night Lights
In front of a deafening sold-out crowd at Sanford Stadium, the No. 6 Georgia Bulldogs made a bold statement in the college football landscape, defeating the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide 38-27 in a thrilling showdown that may reshape the path to the College Football Playoff. The Tide came out thumping as they moved the ball smoothly down the field and QB Jalen Milroe found WR Ryan Williams for a 29 yard TD pass to go up 7-0. The Dawgs tried pushing back as they moved down the field on their possession but would find themselves only walking away with 3 points. Next drive would end with Jalen Milroe throwing his first INT on the day and Georgia took advantage as QB Carson Beck found WR Anthony Evans III for a 43 yard TD to go up 10-7. The second quarter was a battle, HB Trevor Etienne would find the endzone twice in the 2nd quarter, and after Milroe was able to find Kendrick Law for 89 yards to end the half 24-14. The Bulldogs kept Bama out of the endzone the entire 3rd quarter but found it twice themselves once on a pick 6 by MLB Smael Mondon Jr and a 6 yard TD run by TE Jaden Reddell. "This game was a tough one but we were able to put things together and come away with the win. Coach Dcanaday is a tough opponent and we pulled out the stops trying to keep his team uncomfortable. We just need to keep our heads clear and continue to focus on solid play and finish the season out strong." said Coach Cane after the game. There is still a lot of opportunity for the Bulldogs to improve and get things connected for the rest of the road. Great Game Dcan, see you again brother!
