The Buffaloes off to a hot start headed into Waco to open the Big 12 season on the road.

The defense stayed at home in this one, specifically in regards to Baylor's run game. The Bears finished with 266 yards on the ground on 27 carries and ripped off 4 runs of 40 plus yards. Richard Reese was the main man with 13 carries for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Bears got the scoring started early as they methodically drove down the field to take a 7-0 lead.

Colorado drove right back tying it at 7 when Hood rushed in from 14 yards out after Sanders and the passing attack got them down the field.

But on the first play for Baylor Reese ripped off the longest of his runs, a 75-yard touchdown. The Bears then forced a quick 3 and out and then another almost 50 yard run for a touchdown put the Buffs officially on upset alert.

A hood fumble as the Buffs were driving almost spelled doom, but after it was reversed Sanders led the team inside the 20 and Travis Hunter capped off the drive with a touchdown.

It looked as if Colorado seized the momentum forcing a punt and then driving down the field again with a chance to tie or be down 21-17 getting the ball after half. But with 23 seconds left Baylor flocked a short field goal and turned it into points themselves as again they ripped off a long run that turned into their own field goal attempt and a 24-14 lead.

Coming out of the half Sanders did what he hasn't done much of this season and forced a pass late that turned into an interception.

Colorado looked like they might get a stop but on a 3rd and 10 sending the House Baldwin burned Hunter on a zig to set the Bears up on the goal line and took a 31-14 lead.

Sanders and company wasted no time answering scoring on the first play when Sanders found Hood out of the backfield for a 76-yard touchdown. The momentum swung fully on Baylor's next possession as Trevor Woods returned an interception for a touchdown cutting the Baylor lead to just 3.

Baylor find a bit of a groove again scoring quickly making it a 2 score game again, but Sanders maybe had his first of hopefully many Heisman moments again leading Colorado for a score. Finding Hunter on a deep pass setting up another rushing touchdown from Hood.

On Baylor's next drive Jaylen Wester picked off a pass returning it for a touchdown giving Colorado its first lead of the game. Forcing a quick 3 and out the defense gave the ball back to the offense with a chance to ice the game.

On an option Sanders pitched out to Travis Hunter who set up another Hood rushing touchdown to give Colorado a 2 score lead with 4 minutes left.

The defense held strong getting the ball back to the offense with a 2 score lead to churn some clock setting up a field goal with just under 2 minutes left to further seal the game.

Sanders used his legs for the first time this season putting up almost 60 yards on the ground. He also had 361 yards through the air with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Hood also kept performing with 176 total yards and 4 touchdowns.

Colorado gets UCF next before they head into the bye.
