In a stunning start to conference play, the Northwestern Wildcats delivered a decisive 35-0 victory over the Washington Huskies. Quarterback Mike Wright continued his impressive form, scoring his sixth rushing touchdown of the season and adding a passing touchdown to his tally. Running back Cam Porter maintained his strong performance with his third consecutive game of over 100 rushing yards, also finding the end zone. Wide receiver AJ Henning celebrated his first receiving touchdown of the season, contributing to the Wildcats' dominant offensive display.
Defensively, Northwestern was impenetrable, securing their second consecutive shutout and extending their streak of games with a defensive touchdown to three. Safety Devin Turner was a standout, recording his third interception of the year and second defensive touchdown. The defensive effort was further bolstered by interceptions from senior DB Coco Azema, his third of the season, and freshman safety Damon Walters, who scored his first career touchdown on the play.
With this commanding win, Northwestern looks ahead to their final out-of-conference game next week, as they travel to face Wake Forest.
