It was an offensive shoot out in this game where both QBs passed over 400 yards and both RBs ran over 100. It was back and forth the whole game but MTSU put some distance on the board when they took a 14 point lead in the 4th. However everything came together for Illinois as they scored 28 unanswered thanks to huge performances by QB Luke Altmyer, WR Pat Bryant, and RB McCray. This lead Illinois to a 48-41 victory.
