Drewwbacca ventured further South in his coaching quest for the second straight season going from the chilly flats of Ohio, to North Texas. The warmer weather hasn't made Drewwbacca feel any more at home with a season open beat down from Knubb and Toledo.
Starting QB Chandler Morris was, "accurate" going 10 of 15. Sounds great right... that amounted to 116 total yards, for a single TD and wait for it, 4 INT's. 2 of those were even returned for TD's, and so to say it was miserable first game for Drewwbacca in Denton is an understatement.
Toledo barraged UNT early, but the Mean Green eventually found their footing and were able to play quasi respectable defense. Today's standout who did his best to put the team on his back was MLB, Jordan Brown, who finished with 10 tackles, 1 for loss. Isheem Young provided solid run support from his FS position and contributed 8 tackles, 1 for loss.
The unironic and most telling part is the best player on the field for UNT today was the punter, Sawyer Evans. He boomed 3 punts for 148 yards (148 net), downing 2 of 3 inside the twenty and had a particular filthy 56 yard punt that went out of bounds at the 2. Sadly the D did nothing to reward him for the effort.
Overall, probably about the start that was to be expected from Drewwbacca, in his first game out with his new squad, against a pretty solid MAC team, Toledo.
