In a back and forth contest the JMU Dukes showed how good they can be even in defeat to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Dukes played the Buckeyes play for play in the first half trailing just 21-14 at the break. In the 3rd quarter the Dukes got the ball first and went right at OSU, tying the game up and then taking a 28-21 lead into the 4th quarter on a great run by RB Pettway from 35 yards out. unfortunately for the Dukes the final frame belonged to the home team as the buckeyes took a 34-28 lead with 2+ minutes to go. JMU would drive within striking distance and even got the coverage they wanted on a 3rd and 10 play looking for the TE in the soft spot of the OSU defense. However, the nickelback had other plans getting to the JMU passer resulting in a sack making it 4th and 20. JMU tried picking up the 1st down but instead threw thier 2nd INT on the day.
