The Wake Forest Demon Deacons traveled to Atlanta tonight to take on the Georgia State Panthers. The score was not a true indication of how the game went, as both defense showed up to play today. Going into the half it was 7-0 Wake as Ga State would stone the Deacs on a goalline stand just before half.
Demond Claiborne would get some space and create some of his own with 2 touchdown runs in the 3rd quarter one from 4 yards and one from 65 yards to push the lead out to 21-0 entering the fourth quarter.
Kendron Wayman would provide the only td in the 4th as he would bust in and free the ball from the Panthers qb. Scoop it and score it. Wake al would hit a 51 yard field goal for the games final points as both teams pushed back and forth until the final gun.
“We were fortunate to get the ground game going today. We had to just keep pushing forward. That team and Coach Toro are solid and can make things happen on the ground themselves. Fortunately we caught some breaks on the ball bouncing our way and were able to capitalize.”
