Lynchburg, Virginia - The Florida Gators picked up another big road win today, defeating the Flames of Liberty 45-10. On the offensive side of the ball the Gators relied on the big play ability of freshmen quarterback DJ Lagway who totaled 286 yards of total offense (250 passing, 36 rushing) and 4 touchdowns (2 passing, 2 rushing). Running back Montrell Johnson Jr. also showed out for the Florida offensive attack, totaling 170 yards (120 rushing, 50 receiving) and 2 rushing touchdowns. On the defensive side of the football the Gators continued to flash their ability to force turnovers, totaling 5 interceptions on the day. "This was an important game for us to set the stage for the rest of the season," said coach McDonagh at the post-game press conference. "I think we executed well on both sides of the ball and we're going to have to continue to play to the best of abilities. These next few weeks are going to reveal just what kind of team we are." With the win the Gators improve to 5-0 on the season and prepare for one of, if not the biggest game of their season when they travel to Knoxville next week to take on their rivals the Volunteers of Tennessee.
