Article By: autiger730

San Jose St. ran over and around Ohio today. The Bobcats defense was helpless against the Spartan run game. SJSU RB Floyd Chalk amassed 235 yards on 28 carries for 3 TDs. The Bobcat offense showed signs of life at times, but were unable to keep up with the Spartans' scoring. PArker Navarro finished the day with 285 yards and 2 TDs but it was just not enough. After some stiff competition out of conference, we'll see if the Bobcats are ready for primetime MACtion. The offense will have to pick up the scoring pace if the Bobcats have any shot at a successful season.

San Jose State Spartans hosted the Ohio Bobcats and came out with a 34-21 victory for their first win of the season. The Spartans relied on the run game and used Floyd Chalk IV to lead the way. He was able to amass 235 rushing yards, 33 receiving yards, and 3 rushing TD's. Emmett Brown, QB, did a good job of protecting the ball and only threw 1 INT and also had 1 TD pass. The Spartan defense played a good game, but still gave up some big plays. "There is more work to be done and we cannot and will not rest with this victory. Yes, we will enjoy this win, but we will be back on the practice field soon to work on our defensive and offensive plays. We will not to plan for the MWC games and be ready to be competitive," replied Coach Taruncheel!

Time will tell how well the Spartans will be this season. However, this was the first step for the season!
