Jayhawks Offense Explodes in Win

Article By: razorback44

For the first time this season, the Kansas offense gave their fans a glimmer of what they've seen the past two years from their beloved Jayhawks. It's been an up and down year for the school that was coming off back-to-back national titles so a high scoring affair was nice to experience if for only one game.

Jalon Daniels and Devin Neal both had huge games for the Jayhawks as they were able to continuously find holes in the UMass defense to pick up chunk plays time and again. This allowed the always porous Kansas defense to stay on the sidelines for longer than normal which was the key to success.

Any time the UMass offense had sustained drives they were able to put points on the board as they could not be stopped. Multiple times it looked like they would be back in the mix the Kansas offense put up a big play to stop the momentum. The play of the game occurred early in the 4th quarter when Devin Neal took an outside hand off and sharply weaved through the UMass defense for a 40+ yard touchdown run. It was arguably Neal's best play of the season and one that shut the door effectively on a UMass rally.

Kansas moves to 5-3 on the season and travels out to Provo next week to face the BYU Cougars.
