Article By: In an anticipated matchup, the Arkansas Razorbacks traveled to Bowling Green to take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. The game started slow but picked up steam in the second quarter as the Razorbacks showcased their offensive firepower.
The first quarter saw limited action until Jaquinden Jackson broke through with a 30-yard touchdown run at the 4:22 mark. Western Kentucky responded with a 13-play drive capped by a 1-yard touchdown run by George Hart III with just 15 seconds left, knotting the score at 7-7.
The second quarter belonged entirely to Arkansas. Jackson struck again, punching it in from two yards out to take a 14-7 lead with 3:20 left. The Razorbacks’ defense followed with a quick three-and-out, setting the stage for a dazzling 86-yard punt return by Jordan Anthony, pushing the lead to 21-7.
Another Hilltopper three-and-out opened the door for Jackson’s third touchdown of the day, a 17-yard dash with just 1:11 remaining in the half. Arkansas capitalized on an interception late in the second quarter, setting up a 37-yard field goal by KK as time expired, sending the Razorbacks into halftime with a commanding 31-7 lead.
The second half was largely uneventful offensively as both teams struggled to add points. Arkansas relied on its defense to maintain the lead, comfortably cruising to victory.
After the game, Razorbacks Head Coach Texas Fan praised Western Kentucky’s grit. “They’re a tough team, and the scoreboard doesn’t reflect how hard they played. Hats off to them for competing until the end.”
Next up for Arkansas is a home matchup against the University of New Mexico Lobos, as the Razorbacks aim to continue their strong start to the season.
