Utah's secondary registered a pair of interception returns for touchdowns, including an 80-yard score in the final minute, to escape with a 38-28 win over Georgia Southern.
The Utes picked off four passes on the day, but were torn apart at times as their line was dominated and their pass coverage left holes and missed tackles. Utah's offense rushed for 149 yards, with three different players scoring on the ground, while Cam Rising had an iffy day through the air with just 217 yards passing and a pick.
"I thought our defense had turned a corner against Oklahoma State, but it appears we still have a ton of work to do," Coach JasonUK said after the win. "I'm extremely disappointed with our performance today. if we were playing a team with better talent, we would've lost because that team was ready to play and very well coached by Big_Red."
Things won't get any easier coming up for Utah, as they play eight of their 12 games away from home this season. Up next is a rivarly game at Utah State, before coming home for just the second time all season to host Arizona.
