Clemson fans were treated to an electrifying performance Saturday night as the #13 Tigers defeated the #21 Auburn Tigers 38-21 in Death Valley. The win was powered by a historic showing from Phil Mafah, who etched his name in Clemson history books with a jaw-dropping 274 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Mafahs performance broke Raymond Priesters longstanding record of 260 rushing yards in a single game, set in 1995, solidifying his place among the programs greats.

While Mafah carried the offense, quarterback Cade Klubnik had a solid outing. He completed 12 of 20 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns. However, Klubniks first-half interception could have been costly, coming during a critical second-quarter drive. Thankfully for Clemson, the defense stepped up in a major way to neutralize Auburns attempts at gaining momentum.

Clemsons defensive unit exceeded expectations, completely stifling Auburns run game and holding them to an astonishing -6 rushing yards. The relentless pass rush wreaked havoc on Auburns backfield, recording five sacks, including crucial late-game pressures that helped seal the victory. Additionally, Clemson forced two turnovers and held Auburn to 0-for-3 on fourth-down attempts, including stops during pivotal moments when Auburn seemed poised to threaten the lead.

With the win, Clemson improves its résumé in the race for the College Football Playoff, riding high on Mafahs record-breaking day and a defense that proved it can dominate against ranked opponents.
