This one started a bit slow but heated up in the 2nd quarter. After the Dukes weren't able to make anything happen on their opening possession the JMU defense came up big with a forced fumble and recovery giving their QB another go. This time JMU would put to gether a very efficient drive find the endzone on a 3rd down from 12 yards out. Unfortunately for the Dukes that is as good as it was ever gonna get. A&M would score on their next possession to even things up at 7. JMU would then throw a pick 6 and quickly found themselves down 14-7. Unable to get anything going the Dukes gave the Aggies the ball back with enough time to score again just before halftime putting things 21-7 at the break. A&M would score one more time in the second half and put the Dukes away.
GG sixft. Great chatting with you! GL on the rest of the season
Debbie Downer: Aggies Beat JMU College Station, TX – Well, the Aggies won. I guess we should celebrate?
Texas A&M took care of James Madison at home with a ho-hum 28-7 victory that was about as thrilling as watching paint dry. The Aggies were supposed to win this one easily, and that’s exactly what they did. JMU was overmatched from the opening snap, held to just 88 total yards of offense while getting absolutely harassed by the Aggie defense.
The offense? Serviceable. They ran for 177 yards, which is nice and all, but let’s be real—JMU wasn’t exactly fielding the ‘85 Bears on defense. It was the kind of win that doesn’t answer any questions, doesn’t change the trajectory of the season, and certainly doesn’t erase the embarrassment of back-to-back road losses to Cal and Florida.
The Aggies are now 2-2. A perfectly mediocre start for what’s been a perfectly mediocre season. But don’t get too comfortable—next up, the undefeated and 18th-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks. Can the Aggies get a statement win? Or will we be right back to questioning everything again?
