What was looking like a rather boring game for fans after not much scoring in the first three quarters leaving BYU down 7-9, a 4th quarter thriller takes place. At the start of the 4th quarter, Missouri connects with their TE for a 5 yard TD pass extending their lead to 16-7. BYU responds quick with a 1 play touchdown where Retzlaff finds Roberts deep for a 75 yard touchdown pass, bringing the game to 16-14 with Missouri still ahead. Missouri drives down the field and burns clock to find Burden III for a TD to extend the lead to 23-14 with under 2 minutes left in the fourth. Chase Roberts once again gets open deep for a 1 play 84 yard TD to bring the game to 23-21. BYU fails to recover the sub-sequential onside kick and now relies on the defense to get a stop. Which they do, getting an interception to give BYU's offense the ball back. BYU connects with Kingston deep to get inside the redzone. From there they burn the clock to 11 seconds and kick a field goal to take a 24-23 lead. Maybe a little too confident in their ability to win the game, BYU gives up a deep pass and allows Missouri to get into the redzone. With Missouri having no timeouts they must go for the touchdown. Getting the ball snapped as the clock hits 0, they catch the BYU defense unorganized and scores a gaming winning touchdown as time expires. Heartbreaking loss for the Cougars. They hope to make up for this the rest of the season and still hope to make a second straight bowl game under coach TheBruisedBagel.
