The Miami Hurricanes would take on Wake Forest in this Week 13 game. This would be a rematch from the Beefy Cup Pool Play in which the Canes topped Wake 28-21 at Wake. This time it would be in Coral Gables, FL. Wake would get off to a nice start as they would drive right down the field but would have to settle for a 25 yard field goal and a 3-0 lead. Miami would come out firing with some big gains on the ground by Damien Martinez. That would set-up Cam Ward to find Elijah Arroyo on a 33 yard touchdown to grab the lead 7-3. Miami's defense would step up big in the 2nd quarter holding Wake Forest scoreless. The Canes offense would get stopped on the next drive but a muffed punt by Wake had the Canes inside the 10 yard line. Miami would punch it in on the very next play, a 7 yard run by Martinez to go up 14-7. The Canes would force another turnover on the next possession, this time Mishael Powell would intercept a pass. Miami would go 10 plays and would look to be stopped again at the 1 yard line. Ward and Arroyo would make sure that did not happen though as they would connect on a 1 yard touchdown pass to go up 21-3 at the break. "We played a very nice first half," said Coach Dealer, "we came out and executed and then forced a couple turnovers which helped us get out to an early lead."

The second half would not start as nice for the Canes, Ward would throw his lone interception on the day. Wake Forest would make them pay as they would score on a 37 yard touchdown pass to cut the lead to 21-10. Miami would counter them right back though. On 3rd and 2 from their own 24, Ward would find a wide open Arroyo as he would go 76 yards for the score and a 28-10 advantage. "That was a big 3rd down play for our team," said Dealer, "we had just enough time to get that pass off and turned into a big score for our team." The Canes would add another 76 yard touchdown in the 4th quarter this time Ward to Chris Johnson Jr. Miami would win with the final score being 38-17. "Very proud of how this team came out to play today, hopefully we can continue playing like this the rest of the way," said Dealer.
