McNamara goes over 300 yards and still almost wasn't enough

Iowa came out firing on all cylinders at Maryland. The Hawkeyes jumped out to a 14-0 lead. The fireworks continued as Iowa would throw an int late in the 2nd quarter. A quarter that saw 35 points scored by both teams. At half Iowa was clinging to a 28-21 lead.

Hawkeyes were nervous at half knowing Maryland had found its offense in the second quarter and that the Terps would receive the ball to start the second half. This would prove to valid as Maryland scored on the opening drive and at the end of the 3rd quarter they would 31-28 over Iowa.

The 4th quarter would see the Iowa defense finally wake up and pick up their tired HB Johnson. The Hawkeyes pitched a shutout in the 4th quarter and Johnson would score with 15 seconds left to win the game 35-31.
