In a thrilling contest, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets secured a 37-29 victory over the NC State Wolfpack on Saturday, riding a dominant rushing attack and flawless execution to seal the win.
Despite NC State's impressive passing game, which racked up 423 yards through the air, the Yellow Jackets' ground game proved to be the difference. Georgia Tech piled up 211 rushing yards, with a well-balanced offense controlling the clock for nearly 17 minutes, compared to NC State’s 11.
Quarterback play was key for both teams, but it was Georgia Tech’s ability to avoid turnovers and capitalize in the redzone that ultimately gave them the edge. The Yellow Jackets scored two redzone touchdowns, while NC State could only manage one. Georgia Tech also showed up defensively, forcing three turnovers, including three interceptions, while the Wolfpack had zero turnovers of their own.
NC State's passing offense, led by quarterback Grayson McCall, had its moments, but the Wolfpack struggled to get a consistent ground game going, finishing with just 52 rushing yards. In contrast, Georgia Tech’s balanced offensive attack kept NC State on its heels throughout the game.
