San Jose State went to Corvallis and came out with a victory. It a very sloppy game by both teams, 9 interceptions combined, San Jose State was able to make a last second interception to seal the victory. The game started with San Jose State having a 3 and out and Oregon State marched down the field. The Beavers had to settle for a FG, but took a 3-0 lead. In the 2nd quarter, SJSU used Chalk IV to lead the attack on the ground. He scored 2 TD's in the 2nd quarter to put the Spartans up 14-3. Then Oregon State went on a 21-0 run to take a 24-14 halftime lead and received the ball to start the 3rd. San Jose State came out strong and forced a punt. Coach Taruncheel saw enough of Brown and benched the QB for Eget. This proved to be the right move for this game. The Spartans were able to score 23 straight points (3 FG's by Halvorsen, TD by Chalk IV, and an INT return by Reese) to take a 37-24 lead. Oregon State was able to score a touchdown and converted on the onside kick. Another INT by McCoy allowed the Spartans to kneel out the clock. This impoves the Spartans record to 4-6 with 2 games remaining.
