UNT, despite another loss and a now 0-6 record, can at least hang their hat on a moral victory, where they pushed AAC leading Tulane deep into the 4th, before Sammy could finally take a deep breath and relish in victory with less than 2 minutes to go.
If you look at the game stats without any other details or a score line, you might think a team that held a 10 minute T.O.P advantage as well as a 209 to 75 yard advantage in the running game, as well as winning the T.O. margin would likely cruise to a victory, and probably with ease.
Alas, we are talking about Drewwbacca after all, and so despite another stat line that should indicate net success, we're still living in the realm of abject failure.
RB Ikaika Ragsdale posted 91 yards and has been a near constant for UNT all season long. Anchoring the other side of the ball was Jordan Brown, the standout DT and 1st team All-AAC candidate, who led all defenders with 7 tackles.
With 6 games in the books, Drewwbacca now has 1/2 a season left to try and salvage something of a moral victory. The glimmer of hope remaining there, is that the back half schedule features 5 of 6 teams in the bottom half of the AAC. If there is a victory to be had for UNT this season, it's due in the coming weeks.
