Iowa put up 586 total yards and had only 1 turnover and lost. That's the story for Iowa. The rest of the story is about John Elway that was at QB for Washington. Oh nevermind it was Will Rogers. Rogers threw 5TDs on 29-35 passing for 433 yards.

Iowa was unable to stop Washington and also didn't force any turnovers. Hard to win that way. After 1 quarter Washington had less than 20 total yards, while Iowa marched up the field on their first 2 possessions, and interception on the second drive and a punt on the 3rd drive would provide the Hawkeyes only a 7-0 cushion. This would prove costly as Iowa wasn't able to stretch the lead, and then didn't get another stop the rest of the game I don't believe.
