Wake Drops 1st One With Clemson

Article By: TheRealDray

In a game no one likely expected to be close turned into a fight almost to the end. The Tigers came out and jumped on top 14-0behind the running of Phil Mafah and timely passes from Cade Klubnik. But the Demon Deacons would battle back with solid offense and defense that was attempting to limit the Clemson scoring machine.
Hank Bachmeier would overcome two early int’s and find Micah Mays just before the half to cut the lead to 17-7. The Deacs would ride that momentum in the third quarter with another long pass to Mays and then after a stop would see the Deacs take the lead when Bachmeier hit tight end Harry Lodge for a 8 yard score.
Wake would get another stop and look to try to tack on but stud running back Demond Claiborne would cough up the ball around mid field and the tigers would capitalize taking a lead they would not relinquish:

“We showed some fight and showed ourselves we can play with anyone if we play with that kind of effort: we just made too many mistakes and didn’t capitalize on opportunities that were there for us. No one feels bad for us, we gotta strap it up and get ready for the next one.”

Clemson Outlasts Wake Forest in ACC Showdown, 34-21

In a battle of two undefeated ACC powerhouses, Clemson emerged victorious over Wake Forest, 34-21, in a tightly contested matchup. The Tigers used a dominant rushing performance and a clutch defensive stand in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Cade Klubnik had an efficient day under center, completing 14 of 18 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown. More importantly, he protected the football, avoiding turnovers and even recovering his own fumble.

The real story of the game was Phil Mafah, who continued his historic run with a staggering 254 rushing yards and three touchdowns. His most electrifying moment came late in the game when he shrugged off what looked like a sure tackle for loss and instead turned it into a game-sealing long touchdown run.

Clemsons defense stepped up when it mattered most, holding Wake Forest scoreless in the fourth quarter. Woods was a dominant force, leading the way with nine tackles, a sack, and an incredible nine tackles for loss, wreaking havoc in the backfield all game long.

With this win, Clemson remains unbeaten and solidifies itself as a top contender in the ACC
