Utes Defensive Line Dominant In Win

Article By: jasonuk

Utah's defense held Arizona State to just 114 yards of total offense and intercepted three passes as the Utes defeated the Wildcats 31-3 on the road on Saturday night.

The win, which moves the Utes to 6-0 on the season, came via a balanced attack that saw them rush for 112 yards and threw for another 241 without turning the ball over. Cam Rising threw a pair of touchdown passes, and five different receivers topped 30 or more yards on the day.

But it was the defensive line that stole the show. The front four registered five of the six sacks on the day, and pressured Sam Leavitt repeatedly with two of those hurries leading to picks. They also limited star back Cam Skattebo to just 46 rushing yards on 14 carries.

"I couldn't be prouder of the job out front seven did today," Coach JasonUK said after the win. "Coach Priest and I chatted after the game and he was raving about how well they did, which meant quite to us."

Utah now enters the toughest portion of their schedule. A massive showdown with TCU looms, followed by a trip to Houston before they take a bye.
