Same Old Story, Phreakk Loses Again
Article By: Good Morning from Ann Arbor,
The Michigan Wolverines lost their fourth game in a row this season in a heartbreaker against the Washington Huskies 23-20. The only reason why Michigan was in this game was their defense, as the Offense wasn't able to get much going. Alex Orji completed 14 passes on 21 attempts for a mediocre 89 yards. Donovan Edwards was able to move the ball efficiently and effectively to give Michigan some offense on the day, he rushed 22 times for 128 yards.
The Wolverines Defense had a few clutch moments. The Huskies had the ball up 7-3 in the second quarter on their 13 yards line, Will Rogers drops back to pass the ball and is stripped by Josiah Stewart (6 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 1 FF, and 1 PD) at the 5 yard line, a Huskies Offensive lineman picks the ball up in the end zone, where he was met by Big Man Kenneth Grant (6 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, and a Safety) 4 yards deep in the end zone to bring the game to 7-5 Huskies.
Fast forward to around the 3 minute mark in the 4th quarter, the Huskies just scored a touchdown on a Corner route in 0 coverage to Latu. The score at the time is 20-15 and Washington elects to go for 2. Will Rogers drops back in Shotgun formation and throws a dime to Wolverines DB Rod Moore whom runs it back 100 yards to the house to make it a 3 point game. On the ensuing Michigan drive, the Wolverines were able to get into field goal range, in which the Huskies make a pivotal stop and force Michigan to kick a FG. Zvada makes the FG with 40 seconds left in the game.
Washington drives down the field to walk it off with a FG with 3 seconds left in the game.
Phreakk mentioned after the game, "We have a lot to work on. Unfortunately, I am unhappy about how this season started and we have to turn things around. We'll get back to the drawing board and start winning some games".
Great game Dub, it was a pleasure to play you again. Look forward to many more.
