**Washington State Cougars Dominate Boise State Broncos in Boise, 28-7**

The Washington State Cougars traveled to Boise, Idaho, to take on the Boise State Broncos in a highly anticipated matchup. The Cougars wasted no time, jumping out to an early lead on a methodical 16-play drive that ended with a 1-yard quarterback sneak by John Mateer, putting WSU up 7-0.

The Cougar defense then made its presence felt as Ethan O’Connor intercepted a pass and returned it 45 yards to set the tone for the rest of the game. The defense remained dominant throughout, with O’Connor snagging two interceptions in total, stifling any hopes of a passing attack from the Broncos.

Mateer continued to shine, connecting with Wayshawn Parker on a 60-yard screen pass that broke open the game. The Cougars quickly extended their lead to 21-0, and the Bronco fans were left wondering if their team had any answers. As the first half drew to a close, Boise State finally found the end zone, with Ashton Jeanty powering through for an 18-yard touchdown as the half expired, but the Broncos still trailed 21-7.

The second half was all Washington State, with Mateer finding Williams for a 10-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter, stretching the lead to 28-7. Boise State could not get anything going in the air, as the Cougar defense continuously shut down their passing game. The Broncos only managed a meager 100 yards through the air on the day.

Jeanty, the bright spot for Boise State’s offense, was bottled up for most of the game by a tenacious Cougar defense. Despite a couple of explosive 60-yard runs late, he was largely contained, and the Broncos’ rushing attack could not get into any sort of rhythm.

Fans in the stands questioned Boise State’s offensive strategy as they kept feeding Jeanty despite the lack of success. The Cougars were simply too much for the Broncos to handle, as they improved to 9-2 on the season, extending their win streak to 9 games in a dominant 28-7 victory.
