The Rio Grande Valley is ruled by the Aggies this season. Tough game for the Lobos. A good first defense stand and promising drive but the game turned when Coach bearass was too conservative on the opening drive passing up a 4th and one on the Aggie 43 to punt. From there it was all Aggies. The Lobos remain slow to react on defense, first moves are killing the backers and secondary, and the lack of a pass rush allows crosses or deep routes to open up. A good mix of run and pass couldn't be solved while big plays ruled the day.
Dampier struggles with the line in front of him again. The quick game didn't work, and the deep game wasn't there due to the pass rush of the Aggies. 4 turnover for the team leader including an early fumble that was a back breaker as the Lobos were pushing to make it a game.
It's back to the drawing board after a tough give away to Fresno and the beat down today. Rice will end the block and the Lobos non-conference schedule as they look to right the ship in conference and find 5 more Ws to make a bowl game.
