Penn State ran away at first with a 21 point lead at 28-7. Knowing the Fighting Illini they weren’t ready to go down and tried to fight back the whole game but the interceptions and sacks were to much to come back from for Illinois and the defense not being able to stop Penn State. Penn State one 42-27, Illinois will try to get back in the win column and see if they can save their playoff hopes.

The game started off looking like Penn State was going to dominate at home!
Illinois received the ball first and were forced to punt.
Penn State drives down and scores on a 38 yard pass to TE Warren from QB Allar on their first drive.
Illinois gets it together on their next drive and scores on a 52 yard pass to WR Laughery from QB Altmyer to tie it up!
7-7 at the end of 1!
Second quarter
Penn State starts to put a little separation between them and the Illini.
Singleton finds the endzone 3 times this quarter.
1 on a 1 yard run.
1 on a 28 yard pass from Allar.
1 on a 5 yard run.
They go up 28-7 and look like they are going to put this one away early!
Not so fast my friend!
Illinois drives down and scores on a 35 yard FG with 1:06 left in the game.
For some reason, Penn State comes out throwing and they throw an INT.
Illinois converts on the turnover and scores on a 16 yard pass to Dixon from Altmyer.
Score at the end of the first half is Illini - 17 - Nittany Lions 28.
3rd quarter
Both teams score in the 3rd.
First it is an 11 yard run by Singleton which puts the Nittany Lions up 35-17.
Illini answer right back and score on an 8 yard pass to Bryant from Altmyer.
Score at the end of 3 is Illini - 24 - Nittany Lions 35.
4th quarter
Illini drive down the field, but are held to a 44 yard FG by Kicker Olano.
Penn State drives down and scores on a 4 yard run by HB Allen.
Final score in this one is Illinois 27 - Penn State 42.
This game felt like the Fighting Illini would not go away and were always within striking distance!
Penn State holds on to win at home against a very tough Illinois team!
