In a thrilling contest at the Bounce House, the Colorado Buffaloes secured a hard-fought 28-21 victory over UCF in front of a raucous crowd. The Buffs’ defense was the story of the night, holding the Knights to under 250 total yards and limiting star running back RJ Harvey to fewer than 30 yards on the ground. Defensive lineman Dayon Hayes was a force up front, racking up 10 tackles and an incredible five tackles for loss, constantly disrupting UCF’s offensive rhythm.
On the offensive side, Colorado leaned on its running back duo of Dallan Hayden and Brandon Hood, who combined for 120 rushing yards at an impressive 7.5 yards per carry. The pair found the end zone three times, helping Colorado maintain control of the game. However, a critical moment came late in the fourth quarter when superstar Travis Hunter dropped what would have been a game-changing 60-yard touchdown. Instead, the drive stalled, forcing Colorado to punt and giving UCF one last chance to tie or take the lead.
The Buffaloes’ defense, though, delivered the final blow. Backup cornerback Preston Hodge stepped up in a big way, intercepting a pass and returning it for a touchdown to seal the win. The pick-six sent the Colorado sideline into a frenzy and silenced the UCF crowd. With the victory, the Buffaloes not only improved their record but also proved they could win in a hostile environment by leaning on their defense and ground game.
Brutal game for the Knights last night as Colorado beat them in a thriller 28-21. The offense for Ucf was just terrible fumbling twice on pitches that should have been easily made. RJ Harveys effort wasnt enough. He finished the night with 92 yards rushing and over 30 yards receiving with 1 touchdown. Coach Smitty said we will find more ways of using harvey he averaged over 9 yards a touch in the game and only had 14 total. Qb Brown threw some good balls last night but the interception was his worst ball at the worst time.
The defense looked awful early on but held their own later in the game. Travis Hunter didnt even do anything and we still get beat said coach smitty. The defense line was terrible in the run game. Linebacker Andrew Harris made an incredible interception that saved the day for the defense. We just have to get more turnovers to win the game.
Ucf are looking forward to the rest of the season. We will see these guys again, and when we do it will be a different write up on the game.
For those playing the Knights in the future get ready for a dose of RJ Harvey because its coming
