The Michigan Wolverines were embarrassed on home turf as Zachariah Branch outran the defense for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns on 4 receptions, while dropping a 5th in the end zone. The Wolverines had a chance to march down the field in the fourth quarter and attempt to take the lead, however, the Trojans caught Donovan Edwards sleeping and forced a fumble, changing any momentum Michigan had.
The Wolverines performance puts Coach Phreakk in a tough situation for the remainder of the season. Phreakk said after the game, "We have to go back to the drawing board, take a look back at Seasons 29 and 30 success, what went right and what went wrong and improve from there".
A few positives in the game, the Wolverines were able to run the ball successfully and manage the clock. Orji was able to move the ball late in the game, unfortunately, he needs to warm up a little more in the beginning of the game. Michigan's Defense was solid for most of the game until Branch took control.
Great game Ben, I don't remember the last time having a defensive battle in the first half with 15 total points scored at the time. Good Luck the rest of the way. Hope to see you next season.
