Clemson absolutely decimates the Wolfpack. Clemson outmatched NC State in every aspect of the game and overwhelmed them. Clemson came out on fire, and stopped several good NC State drives, forcing them to end in turnovers. Clemson won 34-7, and it could have been much worse!
Grayson McCall threw 6 interceptions and was sacked multiple times.
The only bright spot was a long pass from Grayson McCall to Kevin Concepcion in the fourth quarter.
Coach Narcan must right this ship before it hits the iceberg and sinks! It is on course for a treacherous season if he doesn't.
Clemson welcomed NC State into Death Valley for their annual rivalry game, and the Tigers made sure it wasnt a warm reception. The Tigers handled the Wolfpack with ease, coasting to a dominant 34-7 victory. From the opening whistle, Clemsons defense and offense were in sync, leaving NC State overwhelmed and outmatched.
The Tigers defense put on a clinic, smothering NC State from start to finish. They didnt allow a single point until the fourth quarter, showcasing their dominance. RJ Mickens had the game of his life, hauling in three interceptions, while Jeadyn Lukus added two of his own in a secondary masterclass. Senior linebacker Barrett Carter had a monster game as well, adding to the defensive fireworks with an interception, three tackles for loss, and a sack. Clemsons defense set the tone early and never relented, giving the Wolfpack little room to breathe.
On the offensive side, the Tigers didnt need to do much, as their ground game took center stage. Quarterback Cade Klubnik played a minimalist role, getting the “Jalen Hurts treatment” as he repeatedly handed the ball off to the workhorse of the team, Phil Mafah. Mafah continued his incredible start to the season, racking up 178 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including a thunderous run where he nearly trucked the referee. Mafahs relentless running proved too much for NC State, and his performance solidified his status as the engine of Clemsons offense.
Clemsons victory improves their record to 3-0 on the season, with Phil Mafah carrying the load and the defense suffocating opponents. If this game is any indication, the Tigers are poised to keep rolling as they look to make a serious push in the ACC and beyond.
