Georgia Tech Lose Close One

Article By: JBK

A great game decided by only a few points. Both defenses showed up very well in the first half. The offenses... not so much! Georgia Tech finds a late spark in the second quarter, though, and gets out to a 10-0 lead at halftime. The defense in the second half comes out firing yet again but the Yellow Jacket offense cannot get rolling as they throw three interceptions in the second half of the game which ultimately lost them the game. The Syracuse Orange march down the field time and time just running the ball down our throats and ultimately win 13-10 off a last second field goal.

Syracuse Football Triumphs Over Georgia Tech in Thrilling 13-10 Victory at the JMA Dome

Syracuse football pulled off a stunning 13-10 victory over Georgia Tech in an electrifying game at the JMA Dome, showcasing grit, resilience, and team spirit in front of a roaring home crowd. The game was a testament to the strength of the Orange defense, which held firm in a hard-fought battle, and the determination of a squad that refused to back down, no matter the challenge.

A Defensive Masterclass Led by Devin Grant

The story of the game started with a dominant defensive performance, and no player embodied that more than Defensive Back Devin Grant. Grant played out of his mind, securing two pivotal interceptions in the game — both of which he dedicated to his coach, Mark Berokoff.

“Those two interceptions were for Coach B,” Grant said after the game, his voice filled with emotion. “He means the world to this program, and he fights for us every day. Win or lose, this is our dude for life.”

Grant’s leadership on the field was a key factor in the Orange defense limiting Georgia Tech’s offensive production, and his impact was felt by every player in the locker room.

Malachi James Seals the Victory with a Late Touchdown

While the defense held strong, the Syracuse offense needed a late push to secure the win. That’s when Running Back Malachi James stepped up to deliver a game-clinching touchdown. With time winding down, James powered his way into the end zone, extending the Syracuse lead and sealing the victory.

James’ touchdown capped a stellar effort by the offense, which kept Georgia Tech’s defense on its toes throughout the game. The timely scoring from James ensured that Syracuse would leave the JMA Dome with a hard-earned victory.

Coach Mark Berokoff’s Praise for His Team

Head Coach Mark Berokoff was emotional in his post-game remarks, expressing his pride in his team’s performance and how much the victory meant to him personally.

“This team amazed me tonight,” Berokoff said, his voice filled with gratitude. “We battled against a great coach and a great team, and we shocked a lot of people today. I love this team, and I love my Syracuse community.”

For Berokoff, the win wasn’t just about the Xs and Os, but about the culture he has built in the locker room and the bond he shares with his players. It’s clear that the relationship between Berokoff and his team goes far beyond the field.

A Shocking Victory for Syracuse

This victory was more than just another win on the schedule for Syracuse — it was a statement. The Orange, coming into the game as underdogs, proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in the ACC. Against a tough Georgia Tech squad, Syracuse showed what they’re made of: heart, determination, and the unyielding will to fight for one another.

The JMA Dome was alive with excitement as fans celebrated the Orange’s victory, knowing that they had witnessed a truly special performance. This win is sure to be remembered as a defining moment in the 2025 season.

As the team moves forward, they’ll carry the lessons learned from this hard-fought victory — lessons of teamwork, resilience, and loyalty to one another. And with players like Devin Grant and Malachi James leading the way, the future looks bright for Syracuse football.
