Georgia State Panthers Roll Over Temple

Article By: GraysonHulett

The Georgia State Panthers handed the Temple Owls a thorough beating, cruising to a 31-7 win in Atlanta. The Owls couldn’t catch a break, committing a jaw-dropping 8 turnovers that set the tone for a long night.

Georgia State’s quarterback, Christian Veilleux, was in fine form, throwing for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 16 completions out of 26 attempts. The Panthers’ running backs kept the pressure on, racking up 150 yards on 30 carries and adding another touchdown on the ground.

Defensively, the Panthers were a force to be reckoned with. Cornerback Gavin Pringle was all over the field, finishing with 13 tackles and picking off three of Temple’s passes. Not to be outdone, strong safety Jeremiah Johnson chipped in with 11 tackles and two interceptions of his own. The defense also got to the quarterback, picking up three sacks along the way.

Kicker Liam Rickman was money when called upon, nailing his lone field goal attempt and going a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points to help pad Georgia State’s lead.

For Temple, it was a night to forget as turnovers and an inability to move the ball kept them from ever getting into the game. Despite a few bright spots, the Owls couldn’t overcome their mistakes, and Georgia State took full advantage, securing a well-earned 31-7 victory on their home turf.
