Wazzup!? Notre Dame Wins at Wazzu!

Article By: ReignOnU

After a slight delay in scheduling, after the announcement of a new coach for the Washington State Cougars, Notre Dame finally made the trip to the PNW. The long flight home is going to be much better, as the Irish pulled off a big win on the road tonight.

Notre Dame got the party started early in the first, as the OL asserted themselves early, paving the way for running back duo Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, leading to QB Riley Leonard capping the drive with a 38yd TD pass to Jordan Faison. A good defensive effort got the Notre Dame offense the ball back and this time it was Riley Leonard dialing it up for 38yds again... hitting WR Jaden Greathouse for the score to put the Irish up 14-0.

Another defensive stand to start the 2nd quarter, was followed by a Mitch Jeter 18yd FG, giving the Irish a 17-0 lead. Late in the 2nd Washington State QB John Mateer showed some life, as he hit WR Kris Hutson for a 14yd TD pass with just :10 to go in the half.

With the Cougars getting the ball and coming off of a big score to end the half, momentum looked to be ready to swing. But All American candidate S Xavier Watts was having none of it, snatching a pass out of the air and taking it to the house to start the 3rd quarter, putting ND up 24-7 and stealing any hopes of a momentum shift. The Notre Dame defense locked in from there, pitching a shutout the rest of the way, while ND added a FG to make the final 27-7.

Cougars Lose Big at Home to Notre Dame

Article By: Triplesteezed

The cougars had a tough time getting the ball rolling against the #14 ranked Fighting Irish. Holding W. Parker to a helpless 20 yards, the Cougars struggled to move the ball efficiently down the field. Cougars Starting QB, J.Mateer, tried to bring some life into the stadium, but instead made the home crowd leave early with throwing 4 INTS. Thinking home field advantage would help, Notre Dame's running back duo silenced the crowd quickly to keep them at bay. The cougars are now 4-2 and will need to shake back in the coming weeks to build a strong showcase of why they belong.
