Gators Chomp Kennesaw State in Swamp!

Article By: MarionCounty

In what could be considered a mere warmup in their daunting schedule, Florida rolled the Kennesaw State Owls 48-14 in front of a sellout crowd in Gainesville.

Florida came out of the gates storming with a TD drive capped off by a beautiful corner route TD from DJ Lagway to Arlis Boardingham. Florida's defense on the next drive showed a glimpse of what to expect today with Preseason All-SEC Cornerback, Jason Marshall Jr. picking off the first of his 3 interceptions on the day. These first 2 drives would set the tone for the rest of the game.

The Gators' offense and defense were too much for the outmatched Owls, racking up over 620+ yards of total offense and forcing 6 turnovers.

Lagway had 5 total TDs for the second straight game, with 2 TDs a piece to Boardingham and Eugene Wilson III, who racked up 5 catches for 162 yards. Lagway also punched one in for his second rushing TD of the season.

When asked about the game, Coach MC commented on 2 chunk play TDs by the Owls and a Montrell Johnson Jr, "fumble."

"The 2 chunk plays just seemed like our defense wasn't focused which can happen in games like this. I'll ensure the boys make up these slight flaws on defense and maintain the level of quality we expect on every play." When asked about the fumble, Coach MC stated, "I know the fumble would have been overturned in replay, but I decided out of respect for the KSU coach, to let the game play out. Getting the ball back up 34 did nothing for my team and it allowed the defense some additional reps. I have spoken to Montrell and I have ensured him that for all intents and purposes, that fumble did not happen."

Florida travels to College Station to play the ranked Texas AM Aggies in a matchup of Top 25 SEC teams. Likely one of the NDL games of the week.

Owls stumped in the swamp

Article By: AwesomeAndrewYa

New coach AwesomeAndrewYa had high hopes after beating the Oregon State Beavers in week one, but was instantly humbled as the Gators took a commanding 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Florida never looked back as this game ended in a blowout, 48-14. 5 interceptions thrown by quarterback Davis Bryson sunk the owls, as he kept throwing up prayers down the field. Next week the owls play Kent State as their schedule begins to ease out.
