For the third straight regular season game, Texas State has no answers on offense or defense. From the O-line not being able to hold a block to the D-line not being able to put any pressure on the quarterback or stuff any running lanes, UTSA took advantage of Texas State's lack of discipline on both sides of the ball and sent the Bobcats to an 0-3 record.
After the game, Coach RanDawg had this to say: " What do you want me to say??? We tried hard?? Did we?? Did we really 'try hard' tonight?? I would say we didn't. We have a lot of work to do before we start conference play next week.

UTSA came into their rivalry game with Texas State struggling with turnovers while in major need of a win. Turnovers were still a struggle, but the defense made plays and the offense answered when needed to take the 28-14 victory. The Roadrunners were able to overcome six turnovers by creating some of their own while looking to slow a potent Texas State attack. For the second week in a row, an early long run was the balance of the rushing allowed by the UTSA defense, but in a new turn of events, they forced turnovers of their own and the offense was able to do more than just move the ball. Coach Tim stated after the game, "We did what we needed to do to win, but boy are we leaving some plays and points out on that field with turnovers. Credit Texas State for some timely strips and interceptions. We were fortunate to get a win today thanks to us being able to make a few plays here and there and get the ball in the end zone.
