SJSU downs BGSU to open S30

Article By: Drewwbacca

Floyd Chalk of SJSU brought his swagger right from the get go and opened up with an impressive performance on the road at BGSU, facing a hostile and raucous crowd under the lights to open up S30 of the NDL.

Chalk and SJSU dictated the pace of play, with 243 rush yards overall, and Chalk providing 158 of those yards on 15 attempts. BGSU had their opportunities, and if it weren't for the 4 INT's, then this game would have likely been a shootout to the end.

Drewwbacca is picking up right where he left off from S29, with the turnover bug. Leaving College Park, MD didn't leave the problem behind. It came with his "baggage."

Terrion Stewart of BGSU proved more than competent in his own right and did his best to shoulder the load for BGSU and match Chalk of SJSU. Stewart put up 131 yards on 21 attempts and a TD to go with it. As their do it all offensive star, he also had 4 catches for 55 yards and another touchdown.

Harold Fannin Jr was their best receiver on the night, but even he had 2 drops and wasn't as big time, as BGSU needed if they wanted to win this game.

Coach VIC is a very solid coach and if you do not stay disciplined he will surely take advantage of you. A tough lesson to learn for BGSU and Drewwbacca right off the rip, but things do not get any easier and the Falcons next welcome Coach Vegas and Baylor to town.

Floyd Chalk leads the way for San Jose

Coach VIc and SJSU win Opener

Article By: Vic

Coach Vic’s team secured a critical victory over Bowling Green to go 2-0 on the season, showcasing a growing confidence and cohesion under his leadership. Coach Vic’s spartan squad demonstrated tactical maturity, especially in high-pressure moments.

The game started with a strong offensive display, showing off a running game not seen in San Jose in years his team worked efficiently to dominate possession as Floyd Chalk and Jabari Bates showed once again how dominant they can be having a combined 241 total yards and 4 tds. Once again nothing much was needed from the pass game as Walker Eget was 8 of 10 for 146 and no tds he did have one mistake by throwing a interception late in the first half but Bowling Green did not capitalize. Defensively , they capitalized on their opportunities, with a standout performances from Jordan Cobbs (8 total tackles and an interception) Rocket Rahimi (8 total tackles and a pick six) and Michael Dansby (2 interceptions one for a touchdown).

This victory not only pushed the team to 2-0 on the season but also underscored Coach Vic’s growing influence, with the players buying into his system. We got a few comments from Coach Vic after the game and he said “I love my guys we got great leaders in this locker room and we also got some dogs ready to hunt”. He also said about the team “Look I know people think we should play a certain way or this or that may not look good right now but you know what I don’t coach to look good I coach to dominate and win”. The team looks primed to continue their early-season momentum.
