The game was played in Death Valley with a very loud Clemson crowd. Minnesota was hoping to ruin their day, but the Tigers came out with a 1 pt win due to a late interception thrown by Brosmer. The first quarter was a very defensive battle with neither team able to score. In the 2nd quarter, Clemson was able to complete a short pass and the receiver was able to elude all of the defensive players and capped a 60 yd score. Minnesota was able to take the ball and score near the half to tie the game at 7. In the 3rd quarter, Minnesota started off with a strong defensive stand and was able to get the ball and score on a 21 yd pass from Brosmer to Geers. Later in the quarter, the Minnesota defense was able to get a huge sack and safety to take a 9 pt lead and 16-7. Clemson was able to pick off a pass and return it for a TD to cut the lead to 16-14 for the Golden Gophers. Minnesota stalled and Clemson was able to move the ball down the field and was fortunate to not fumble the ball, but they had to settle for the 3 which gave the Tigers a 17-16 lead. Minnesota had time to move down the field, but Brosmer made an errant pass and the INT was easy. The Tigers were then able to run out the clock and claim the victory.
"The Tigers made plays when they needed to and we didn't. Brosmer had a good game, but the 3 INT's really hurt us and eventually cost us the game. Our defense played well and this was a hostile evironment. Overall, I am upset with the loss, but proud of the boys for the way they played," commented Coach Taruncheel.

Fire alarms are sounding off and the heat is on the Clemson offense as it has pretty much sucked to start the season. But the defense has kept Clemson in every game and is currently the MVP of the team.
OLB Barret Carter had another pick six to help Clemson get back in the game after they were behind 16-7. Klubnik's scrambling led to a safety and Minnesota was ahead 16-7 when Carter made the game changing pick.
After that Clemson would pick off MInnesota twice more but were still unable to capitalize fully.
A scary moment for Clemson trailing 16-14, Klubnik dove forward for a third and inches but fumbled. Thankfully it was recovered and Clemson was able to kick the GW field goal. Clemson still had to make a stop. Minnesota was putting together a great drive until Khalil Barnes stepped up and secured the game clinching interception. Clemson needed a few first downs to close the game and they were able to do so.
GG and Thx for playing
