Article By: Memphis kicked off season 30 with a road trip to Oregon this afternoon.
The Tigers got the ball first but a promising drive would come to an end when Mario Anderson fumbled the ball in Ducks territory. Oregon's speed would dominate the rest of the half as they sliced Memphis apart. The Tigers were able to get a FG towards the end of the first half and trailed 17-3 at the break.
Oregon continued its stellar play and went up 24-3 mid way through the 3rd. The Tigers fought back and scored its first touchdown of the game to make it 24-10 as the 3rd quarter came to a close.
Things got interesting early in the 4th when Memphis defense returned an interception back for a TD making it 24-17. Oregon answered right back though, hitting a deep pass for a TD and then forcing Memphis to punt. One play later RB James would get loose for a long TD run and the Ducks led 38-14. The Tigers wouldnt quit though and put together an impressive drive that ended with an Anderson TD run.
Tough environment for sure said Coach MGR afterwards. You add in Coach Shel and its double trouble. The early fumble set us back, other than that we played pretty well

Oregon Outlasts Memphis in 38-23 Victory
Article By: The Oregon Ducks secured a 38-23 victory over the Memphis Tigers in a game defined by offensive efficiency and big plays. Oregon jumped ahead early, with a 7-0 lead after the first quarter and extended that lead to 17-3 by halftime. Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel had a standout performance, completing 15 of 20 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns, with running back Jordan James adding 145 yards and two scores on the ground. Memphis' quarterback Seth Henigan responded with a solid performance, throwing for 231 yards and one touchdown, but their rushing attack was largely contained, producing only 55 yards.
Memphis narrowed the deficit to 24-17 early in the fourth quarter after a score where Koby Drake hauled in a 64-yard touchdown, then a quick pick 6. However, Oregon’s offense came alive once again, scoring two very quick touchdowns to pull away. Gabriel’s favorite target was Evan Stewart, who tallied 194 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including an 88-yard score that broke the game open. Memphis fought hard but struggled to sustain drives, as their defense gave up over 450 yards and couldn’t contain Oregon’s explosive plays.
Breakout Performers:
Dillon Gabriel (Oregon, QB) – Gabriel was efficient and explosive, completing 15 of 20 passes for 305 yards and 2 touchdowns. His 226.1 passer rating highlights his dominance through the air.
Jordan James (Oregon, RB) – James had a fantastic game on the ground, rushing for 145 yards on 16 carries, averaging 9.1 yards per carry, and scoring 2 touchdowns, including a 61-yard run. He complimented this, adding 5 catches for 89 yards through the air
Evan Stewart (Oregon, WR) – Stewart was Gabriel’s primary target, hauling in 6 catches for 194 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a game-breaking 88-yard touchdown reception.
Seth Henigan (Memphis, QB) – Henigan put up a strong effort for Memphis, completing 17 of 21 passes for 231 yards and 1 touchdown, keeping the Tigers competitive throughout the game.
Koby Drake (Memphis, WR) – Drake made an impact with 4 receptions for 64 yards, including a crucial 64-yard touchdown that helped Memphis close the gap in the second half.
