It was a game seemingly no body wanted to win, in the first half. 5 combined interceptions, kept it to a low scoring affair, through 14 minutes, 7-7. FIU had a solid gameplan to keep standout rusher Terion Stewart in check, and they did so, keeping him under 100 yards for the first time in 4 games Drewwbacca has played across S30 and Beefy Pool play.
Lexington Joseph led the charge for the Panthers, out of the backfield. Going for 137 yards on 27 carriers for the day. FIU was able to play bend but don't break defense in the second half and were just patient in waiting for Bazelak and Drewwbacca to make a mistake. They did.... 5 F****** times...
2 seasons into the NDL now, and Drewwbacca is simply a turnover machine. The record might not look much different if he could limit those, but the game scores would be far more respectible.
The kicking woes are really what standout right now, for BGSU. 4 missed fieldgoals in 2 games have absolutely killed momentum for Drewwbacca in these games, and the redzone stats for BGSU so far this season are absolutely abysmal.
Now it's time to enter MAC play. The sledding won't get any easier, and that win goal feels like it's on the summit of Mount Everest, right now.
