Baylor Head Coach VegasXXii returned to his stomping grounds from last season, and his old team we waiting for him.....with a whole can of offensive whoop ass.. Drewbacca put the pedal to the metal offensively causing many issues for Vegas and his Bears. Terion Stewart reminded his for Head Coach what he left in Ohio for his new team. And he racked up over 250 total scrimmage yards and 4 tds. But don't let Richard Reese's performance for the Baylor Bears and Coach Vegas go unnoticed, Reese had 6 attempts for 162 yards and 2 TD runs over 80 yards.
The game was nip and tuck as BGSU stuck around for most of it, until a pick 6 by CB LOrando Johnson put the Bears up 2 scores and they were able to clinch it with another interception on the next drive by the Falcons.
Following the game Coach Drew spent sometime on the phone with the opposing coach to better understand what he has in Bowling Green, and following the hour long convo, Coach Vegas knew he left BGSU is in good hands with Coach Drewbacca
BGSU's all everything back, Terion Stewart, put the Falcons on his back for the second week in a row, and despite an absolute career day, the strength of Baylor's coaching staff and RB Richard Reese, were simply too strong for Drewwbacca and his squad to contend.
Dominating the game from a ball control standpoint, Drewwbacca kept this one close by amassing 20:50 of possession time.... This was the key factory in even keeping the game close. Despite only 7 minutes T.O.P. Vegas demonstrated his big play ability and Richard Reese's, going for 162 yds on 6 carries....
Terion Stewart finished the day with 21 carries for 118 yards and 2 TD's. A very respectable 5.4 yards per carry. Connor Bazelak continues his strong form in the NDL, that he's displayed in real life. Going 22/28 for 342 yards in this game, he authored a performance that gave BGSU a fighting chance. Terion Stewart, in that career day I mentioned didn't just rush for 100+ he went 100/100 rushing and receiving. 8 carries for 138 yards and 2 TD's, brings his daily total to 256 yards of total offense and 4 TD's.
Unfortunately, BGSU just didn't have the horses to match Baylor, and two back breaking pick's, which were the death blow to any success Drewwbacca and Maryland tried to achieve last year, roared back to life.
Drewwbacca is looking forward to getting past OOC, and into the meat of conference play, where the Falcons hope to have the success they desire, this season.
