Losing star running back Watkins on the first play was clearly a major blow, and it set the tone for what turned out to be a rough outing. The Terrapins really dominated, controlling the clock for nearly 20 minutes, which is a huge margin in terms of time of possession. Three turnovers are always going to make it difficult to win, and it seems like those mistakes compounded the team's struggles.
With the defense allowing 475 yards of total offense, the Golden Hurricanes were in a tough spot no matter what, but losing a key player like Watkins early really sealed their fate. Coach Texanole definitely has some things to work on, especially with a tough game coming up at Camp Randall. Facing a team like Wisconsin with a banged-up squad and after a heavy loss won’t be easy, but there’s always a chance to regroup.
Props to Coach Brady and his team for executing a great game plan and taking advantage of the mistakes. It was a well-deserved win, and who knows? Maybe we’ll see a rematch next season!
Maryland answered Brady's cries and delivered a spirited win behind complete game offensively/defensively. One of the most telling stats was time of possession with Tulsa having the ball for only 8min for the entirety of the game, that was the result of the Terrapins converting on 71% of their 3rd downs.
After the game Brady issued an apology to the Maryland / NDL fanbase for his news outburst earlier in the week, while his time in Maryland may be short lived he plans to remain a major fixture in the NDL community for cycles to come.
Now 1-2 They shift their focus to Hoosiers in week 5
